Introduction
Street drag race is a competition of race using a vehicle, both motorcycle and cars. This race is using a public road instead of using official racetrack that usually held at midnight until early morning when the atmosphere of the public roads has begun to relax because in that time rarely civilians do an activity in public roads.
Juvenile delinquency can be defined as deviant behavior or socially unacceptable behavior to status violations to criminal acts, this wild racing phenomenon is not unfamiliar to society. The perpetrators of this Street Drag Race are very disturbing, not only for residents but for the authorities. Because of this Street Drag Race has already caused many problems such as accidents that hit civilians, closing roads, and gambling.
As a result of this,
residents urged the police to clean up the matter but only a few police
responded it seriously because several police use this event as a mere
money-making person.
The
problem of teenager is do the street drag race is very complicated we can see
from the internal factors of teenager who participates in street drag race
because they do not understand the effects of street drag race and if there is
a problem that cannot be solved, he will look for a situation that can help him
forget about the problems related to street drag race and outside factors push
teenagers to engage in illegal acts.
Due to problems with family members and a lack of public interest in street drag race organized by teenagers. Based on the results of study, adolescents participating in wild racing are encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility in solving problems encountered, as well as share that parents and society should care. The youth in their environment so that they do not commit illegal acts. Racing or anything that could harm teens or their environment.
According
to Mudjiran et al. (2007), factors come from within everyone involved, it turns
out that deviant behaviors that occur in adolescents are also due to the
person's own circumstances:
a. Low
Intelligence: Low intelligence occurs when teenagers are unable to fulfill
their needs understand things related to what he will do, so do teenagers feel
frustrated, inner contact and low self-esteem in everyday life (Mudjiran, et
al, 2007)
b. Unsolved
Problem: Unsolved problems become possible factors causes stress and frustration
for teenagers, so teenagers look for it pleasures outside the family
environment that have an impact on teenagers themselves (Mudjiran, et al,
2007).
c. Low Adaptability: Low self-adjustment is a teenager's inability to adapt to the surrounding environment (Mudjiran, et al, 2007).
The
consequences of street drag racing activities themselves can cause very wide
and serious problems, and have a significant impact on many different aspects
of people's lives, including:
a. Has
an impact on the smooth running of the highway
b. Disrupting
the peace of the surrounding community due to exhaust noise
c. Harms
parents and makes parents worry
d. Can trigger brawls between motorbike gangs
To avoid such of street drag race from happening again, we should resolve them in the following ways:
a. Facilitate
them with drag race events
b. Make
a circuit that can open 24 hours
c. Parents
need to know the problem of their kids
d. the
police and the public provide a deterrent effect
Project Result
- Government and police to help the young people or teenagers to channel their hobbies in a better and more positive direction
- Parents need to pay attention at their kids mental
- For the teenagers, if you want to show your friends that you are cool stop doing things that can harm yourself
Conclusion
We conclude that, government should give them
a facilitate or event to fulfill their hobby so, there is no more street drag
race again. Teenagers are expected to be able to solve problems they encounter
in everyday life and to change their behavior in accordance with rules and
norms. Indeed, stay away from criminal acts (Street Drag Race) or acts that can
harm yourself, others, and the surrounding environment.
Dear parents of
teenagers, we desire to comprehend and pay closer attention to the challenges
involved, so that they can develop into responsible adults who are willing to
learn and exhibit good behavior. By doing so, it seeks to create a safer
environment, reduce illegal street racing, and provide opportunities for
individuals to engage in more positive and fulfilling activities.
